Monday May 5 - Ceasaria, Israel
We began our trip to northern Israel by heading past Tel Aviv on the main road north to Ceasaria. It's a 4 lane highway just about all the way to Lebanon.
King Herod built the town and he did a fine job of it. A beautiful amphitheater that holds 4000, a racing course and several fine palaces, all on the water. Parts were used by the Romans, the Byzantines, the Arabs and the Crusaders, all of whom did some renovating along the way.
Part of the old city is still in use as an artists colony and shopping mall. Over 2000 years of shopping experiences!
Next stop: Haifa
